The popular resale platform has altered its size classifications for female and kids' apparel without notifying all users about the change. Social Media Response Many shoppers and sellers have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display a different size category versus the original listing because of the remapping. Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches similar services. They have suggested members to review their products and manually change the size if necessary, resulting in member annoyance. Sizing System Updates Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Experiences A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Another user, from Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they may become frustrated," she stated. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential following partial earnings loss," she stated. Marketplace Information The service features exceeding 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members. It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
